Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (NES)
It's easy to understand why the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were so popular. In a recipe specifically designed to appeal to young boys, the comic book-turned-cartoon series mixed ninjas, turtles and mutants. And just to close the deal, they made heroes teenagers who loved to spew one-liners and eat pizza. Sadly, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for the skips all the one-liners, instead opting for terrible level designs and uncontrollable game mechanics. This is how a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle dies!

Who Died? Leonardo, the sword-wielding, pizza-loving leader of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

What Happened? You might think a member of the fabled Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles would have something of a tactical advantage in the sewers. Instead of trying to live amongst the normal human beings of New York City, this crime-fighting foursome lives deep underground, traversing the Big Apple via sewers. This should have given them a leg up on the competition, but clearly that wasn't the case when foot soldiers and mousers brutally attacked and murdered Leonardo.

As he bled to death, the Hero Turtle quickly shrank in size until eventually disappearing. Master Splinter said it had something to do with the mutagen used in the creation of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Witnesses at the scene wondered why Leonardo was alone. Many openly questioned why Donatello, Raphael and Michelangelo weren't there to save the day. A question that will no doubt haunt the trio for the rest of their lives.
