When I first heard about The Secret I didn't know what to think. On one hand I'm not into the whole self help thing, there's just something I don't like about other people telling me how to live my life. But then again, The Secret has worked for so many people and Oprah has fallen in love with the video. Who am I to simply disregard it out of hand? It's not like I have everything I want in life, so maybe The Secret could help me be a better man, earn more money and have better luck with the ladies. The Secret has sold millions of videos, so it must be good.

But even with all of these converts and a fairly simple program, I still wasn't convinced that The Secret was for me. The idea seems sound enough, but am the kind of person that can stay true to something like The Secret for the long term? The Secret suggests that anything you want can be yours just as long as you think about it. That's right, that's all you have to do. Are you looking for the love of your life? Then just concentrate and think about it every day. Are you a kid looking for a brand new bike? Cut a picture of that bike and keep it in your pocket, constantly thinking about what that bike means for you. Eventually it will come true, that's the power of The Secret!

But just because I'm not excited about the video, that doesn't mean I can't talk up the preview build of The Secret I received in the mail just a few days ago. The Secret video game is unlike anything you've ever seen before; it's the type of product that has to be seen to be believed. Right from the get-go they tell you that it's the type of product that will change the very fabric of your being. And considering it's by 2K Games you know that The Secret has to be good.

So what is The Secret video game? Unfortunately it's a little hard to explain, so I figured I would simply take the opening moments from the preview build and show you exactly what it's all about. Below you will find the first seven minutes of The Secret, see how it plays, what you can do with it, and how it's going to change your life forever. The Secret is that good, and now is your chance to check out Defunct Games' exclusive first preview.

Now that you've had a chance to experience The Secret it should be easy to see just how impressive this game can be. All you need to do is think about what kind of game you want and you can be playing it. Unfortunately this preview build does have a few problems that will need to be ironed out. For example, it took me nearly a week of constantly thinking about the game I wanted to play before it actually showed up. And that's not even the biggest problem, I kept thinking about playing The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess but what The Secret gave me was Zelda II: The Adventures of Link. Lame.

The Secret does have a lot of potential, but I have yet to be convinced that this new type of product will really live up to its claims. After spending a week thinking about the game I wanted to play I started to wonder if it would have been easier to just go ahead and buy the newest Zelda game. But I'm willing to give 2K Games the benefit of the doubt; I suspect that some of these problems will be worked out before the game ships in a few weeks. If this video is any indication then this might just be one of the most innovative products ever created. I can't wait to see how powerful The Secret really is, especially in the hands of the random gamer. Either this is the best idea ever conceived by a video game company, or this is one giant hoax. We'll see when the game is released in early April.
