Clerks vs. Mega Play

Back in the early 90s two very important things were happening ... the video game industry was taking off with multiple magazines, and director Kevin Smith was starting his claim to fame, Clerks. Prior to the internet magazines like Electronic Gaming Monthly were releasing system specific publications. Mega Play (right) was one such magazines. Unlike Super Play, Mega Play was dedicated to Sega's Genesis (and on a smaller scale, the Sega CD and Game Gear). As you'll see above, Clerks displays MEGA PLAY about 45 minutes into the movie. So it's not exactly a look alike or anything, it is nice to see the lesser known magazines shown in some of the best pop culture movies. I suggest picking the two or three years of Mega Play available, that is after you've picked up the Clerks DVD.
