League Bowling

The only problem with writing a review for a bowling game is that you have to find something to talk about. You may think I'm joking, but outside of how the graphics and sounds are there really isn't anything to mess up in a bowling game.

League Bowling for the Neo Geo is exactly the same as every other bowling game before it. Most of the time that's a bad thing, but in bowling, perhaps it doesn't really matter. The game features a split screen all of the time, regardless of whether or not you are playing two players (though four players can play). This isn't really as distracting as it sounds, and the other half of the screen does fill you in on the extremely complex bowling controls.

The graphics are fantastic, among the best I have seen in any bowling game (for any system). The animation is top notch, but tends to repeat a little more than need be. But the game runs so fast that you never really notice. To be frank with you, a lot of the fun of this game is really a bunch of people yelling at each other. Sounds funny, but it's one of those games.

On the other hand, when you are playing two players you can't help but have fun. The game has extremely simple techniques, and really is a great fast paced party game. It's one of those games that you can easily drink a few beers, play it for fifteen minutes, and just leave it ... it's not Resident Evil, but hey, it's damn fun to play!
