Breakers Revenge

The sequel to the 1996 fighting game Breakers is here, and even though it is more of the same, it's not exactly the worse thing you could say about it.

In case you don't remember Breakers, it was basically a legal rip off every popular fighting game of its time. Though you can trace similarities to other franchises, Street Fighter 2 ripped off the most. Unlike thousands of other Street Fighter rip offs, though, Breakers seemed to have fun with it's persona, and it also had air tight control.

Now two years later, Breaker's Revenge is back and ready to introduce new characters, new moves, and that's it. Pretty much all the levels, characters, costumes, and animation is exactly the same as it was in the first game. In fact, the last boss not only looks exactly the same, but fights in the same location. Talk about lazy.

Of course, it's not hard to believe that everybody involved with the first game would be responsible for the second, but even though this game suffers from a lack of originality, it does play much better than most other fighters. And how can you resist a Zorro wannabe?

Fun, a little light, but fun
