We all love Wind Jammers, right? Well, what if I told you there was a game ready to go head to head with SNK's beach classic? Still interested? Well, I'm afraid the game I have to show you is Flip Shot, and there's no way this game will ever eclipse the wonder that is Wind Jammer.

Alright, instead of a Frisbee in Flip Shot you have a ball, and instead of seeing who can get the most points, here you are trying to knock over the other characters "items" before anybody else. Each character has an item, a special attack, and a different attribute. While there is a serious lack of characters, the game gladly gives each their own arena.

The game plays fine as both a one or a two player game ... but when stacked up against Wind Jammer, Flip Shot falls flat. The control is a little more difficult to negotiate, and the game hardly seems as fair. The characters are better drawn, but not very interesting. And the last boss is just about impossible.

They don't seem interested in making games like this anymore, which is a shame. Perhaps in the future we will see an enjoyable version of Flip Shot ... just not here!
