Hey look everybody, it's Space Invaders for the Virtual Boy! No really, it is. The $180 you spent on Nintendo's non portable 32 bit wonder machine plays a damn good game of Space invaders. Hmm ... is it just me or does that seem a bit self defeating?
Anyway, Space Invaders is back, and features a number of pretty cool features to get the most out of your gaming experience. There's the original mode, which doesn't need a lot of set up. But it's the Virtual 3D mode is where the meat is. It features a visually interesting version of the game. And the best news of all, both modes feature both Space Invaders and Space Invaders II.
I don't think I need to say much more about this game since everyone knows the classic Space Invaders plot of you the player being in command of a spaceship that must protect "everyone" from approaching space invaders, and you will have to do this by shooting them to oblivion before they shoot you, but the more you shoot the faster they will come at you (shooting and all).
In short this is the classic Space Invaders plus a number of new 3D variations on it, if you liked other Space Invaders conversions you will surely enjoy this Virtual Boy version as well. As classic and retro as they come this game is. I like blasting the aliens, at times even my hands started sweating because things went so fast, a great golden oldie. As for the price you should pay, you all know Space Invaders so you must determine what it's worth yourself.
