Game Over #1: I'm Not Here

Oh Duke, will you ever learn?
Over the last three years we have entertained you by modifying pre-existing comic books. We've turned Keith Courage into a right wing politician and Johnny Turbo into a crazy man fighting against music games. While I've had a lot of fun remaking these famous comic books, it has left me wanting to do more. That feeling led to me experimenting with old games and screen capturing software. The end result is a fabulous new way to tell a story I've been thinking about for the last five years.

Welcome to GAME OVER, Defunct Games' very first pixel comic. This is an ambitious new beginning for the site, publishing its very own episodic story. Game Over is a story about people stuck in a world. Some of them want to escape, while others are perfectly fine to accept their fate. Over the next few issues we will develop the characters and unravel the mysteries that haunt this world. Below you will find "I'm Not Here," the pilot episode of this exciting new comic book.

Game Over: I'm Not Here About These Seven Pages: It's tough to write a pilot. Not only am I stuck introducing new characters, but I also have to explain an entire world. That doesn't leave a lot of time for witty banter and commercial breaks. This is an episode about setting events up, not resolving them. It's also worth mentioning that there's nothing about this comic that is in continuity. Don't expect this all to tie into the end of Snake's Revenge or something, this is a completely new story developed exclusively for Defunct Games!

COMING ATTRACTIONS: Will Duke take revenge on this new world? Will he be able to get back and save New York City? Will he finally get a tan?? Only time will tell. Next issue we turn down the lights and get romantic. But not everything is what it appears. Find out what's going on when you join us next time for the continuing adventures of GAME OVER!
