Michael Jackson Will Have His Revenge

If this isn't the most disturbing thing you see all day, then you need to turn off the computer and go outside!
It used to be that you couldn't publish a video game magazine without featuring some sort of crappy comic strip. Nintendo Power had Howard & Nester, Die Hard Game Fan had that weird Monitaur thing and GamePro had something called the Adventures of GamePro. While most of the magazines didn't take these strips seriously, GamePro tried as hard as they could to make a quality games-centric comic that was part comedy, part action and part fan service. The magazine even tried to spin this comic off into its own book, but the less said about that the better.

The gimmick of the Adventures of GamePro was that in each issue our hero would take on a different video game of the era. Think of it like Kingdom Hearts, only without the Disney characters and the good storytelling. Be it Bonk's Adventure, Metroid or Ghouls 'N Ghosts, that little GamePro got around. In one compelling story they even introduced Michael Jackson's Moonwalker, which had Mr. GamePro going up against Mr. Big and saving a bunch of little kids.

Unfortunately my memory of what that Michael Jackson episode is a little fuzzy. I try my hardest to remember what it was about, but I just don't remember anything. In the eight episode of the Comic Book Mods, I attempt to tell the story that GamePro SHOULD have told (assuming they knew what was going to happen almost two decades later). This is the tragic tale of one of the greatest musicians of all time and his battle with ... zombies? Okay, whatever you say GamePro. Regardless of whether you're a fan of the gloved one or not, I say it's time to read through this new seven-page comic. Now you can find out exactly how Michael Jackson Will Have His Revenge!

Johnny Turbo Shoots First About These Seven Pages: Context is important when looking at this comic. While it's fun to make jokes about Michael Jackson and graveyards, the truth is that this stuff came directly out of his mediocre video game. This comic was published right around the time when Jacko was starting his strange descent into weirdness. There were rumors of him buying the Elephant Man's skeleton, sleeping in a special tank and much, much more. However, it's important to remember that in 1991 nobody had whispered anything about possible child molestation charges.

NOTE: While the artwork may be real, TTI had nothing to do with the pure venom being expressed in the new story. It's worth noting that the United States is not becoming socialist, and if you think it is then you're as crazy as Johnny Turbo. If you don't like the way things are going, then perhaps you should get out there and do something about it. But not in a violent way. Don't listen to Johnny Turbo, he's crazy!
