Angry Video Game Nerd 8-Bit Reviewed by Cyril Lachel on . Fans of James Rolfe's Angry Video Game Nerd character may enjoy the references and full-motion video sequences, but the game he's stuck in is surprisingly lackluster. It's a throwback action/platformer that looks and feels the part, but fails to bring the same level of humor and creativity to the project. It does absolutely nothing with what could have been a promising premise and falls short of matching the 35-year-old games it's trying to mock. This is a rare miss for the otherwise solid Retroware, the makers of some of my favorite throwback games. Oh well, at least Neon Inferno is just around the corner. Rating: 57%
