Sega CDX

Going Rate: $110*
What's Up: Back in the day Sega had themselves a brilliant plan ... a CD and cart portable with no screen. No I'm not talking about the PSone, I'm talking about the Sega CDX!! It was designed to be a nice compact Genesis set, but ended up as an expensive collectible. You can play all your Sega Genesis games and Sega CD games on the CDX ... but according to Sega not the 32X games.
But worry, you can still play all those classic 32x games, even if it makes your System look like a toilet!

How Cool Are You: It's all not that cool, certainly not as cool looking as the Genesis with the Sega CD, or the Genesis II with the Sega CD II. But it's compact and it looks weird, and not many people know what it was, let alone owned one. And while you probably already have a Genesis, and maybe even a Nomad, the Sega CDX is just plain odd ... and for Sega completists. That's why it's so damn cool. Buy it and you'll see what I mean.

*Prices for games and collectibles has been known to fluctuate wildly. What's more, this article was written in 2001, so any number of factors could sink or improve its value. I hope you enjoy the article, but hope you won't take the prices too seriously.)
