Nintendo 64DD

Going Rate: $350 - $400*
What's Up: How rare, some put the distribution much lower than 15,000 units, others are unconclusive. Regardless of your estimates, the Nintendo 64DD accessory is rare AND expensive. There are a serious lack of games for the system, but a few real gems that shine through, including a F Zero add on and Sim City. If you don't wince at that price you'll be happy to know that many of the games are extremely easy to learn and play without knowing a lot of Japanese, and best yet,
much of the software is pretty darn fun. (Editors Note: The Nintendo 64DD will be a future Defunct System covered on this very web site).

How Cool Are You: If you had a Nintendo 64DD? Oh my goodness, most people have never even heard of somebody who knows somebody who's seen a Nintendo 64DD. And if you owned one, and the few games, you'd be the envy of every red-blooded Nintendo Fan Boy! And you can even make F Zero a whole lot of fun, something I thought I'd never say. Buy a Nintendo 64DD and be the talk of the town, will it help you get laid? You're on your own with that one, bub.

*Prices for games and collectibles has been known to fluctuate wildly. What's more, this article was written in 2001, so any number of factors could sink or improve its value. I hope you enjoy the article, but hope you won't take the prices too seriously.)
