The 14 Sports Mario is No Damn Good At

I've Got Your Number (Ep. 14) - Quick, name me all of the different sports that Mario would like to think he's a pro at? Actually don't because that's going to take too long. It's not just the big sports like baseball, soccer and tennis, but also more niche events (like boxing and dirt bike racing). In all there are 14 different sports, none of which Mario exactly excelled at. Either way, for our 14th episode of our popular I've Got Your Number show we've decided to take a look at these 14 sports and tell the sorted story about all of the sports that Mario thinks he's good at!

I've Got Your Number (Ep. 13) - Today is Friday the 13th, so we figured this was the perfect time to debut our 13th episode of I've Got Your Number. And what better subject material for this 13th episode on the 13th day of the month than Friday the 13th? That's right, Friday the 13th, the game that started the entire "Survival Horror" genre. And frankly we don't feel that it's given enough credit for its accomplishments. That's why we've decided to devote Friday the 13th to covering, what else, Friday the 13th!

I've Got Your Number (Ep. 12) - We're back from E3 and boy do we have a story to tell. But before we sit down and start writing out all of our important thoughts, perhaps we should address some issues we had with this year's brand new E3. While this year's E3 was an enjoyable experience full of new games and hardware announcements, there were a few problems that will hopefully be addressed next year. To help the organizers out we have compiled a list of twelve trends we hope to not see next year. Ladies and gentlemen, Defunct Games is proud to present The 12 Disturbing Trends of E3 2007!

A Solid Reason to Hate Final Fantasy XI

I've Got Your Number (Ep. 11) - I hate Final Fantasy XI! Even though it's not a terrible game, there's just something about it I can't stand. Unfortunately it's not the graphics, game play or online nature of the title - it's the number XI! That's right; I hate the fact that this is a numbered Final Fantasy game, even though it shares nothing in common with all of the other Final Fantasy games in the series. In our eleventh episode of I've Got Your Number we take a look at one really good reason to hate Final Fantasy XI!

Jumping Straight to the X

I've Got Your Number (Ep. 10) - Even though everybody talks about making a trilogy, if you really pressed most game developers they would tell you that they wouldn't mind their big franchise spilling out to ten or more installments. But not every game is deserving of that many sequels, which might explain why so many titles are either skipping to ten or just starting there. In our tenth installment of I've Got Your Number we take a look at all of those games that seem obsessed with the number ten, even if they haven't paid their dues yet. Are we just terribly misguided or is this one trend that will never go away? Find out now when you discover why games are Jumping Straight to the X!

Nine Lives and the Video Game Industry

I've Got Your Number (Ep. 9) - While some may complain about the way women and minorities are treated in popular video games, I'm here to tell you that there's another group that is being persecuted. I'm of course talking about cute and adorable little cats. Some people like dogs, I like cats, and as far as I can tell there has never been a triple-A game using our feline friends as a lean character. While we sit here and watch Nintendogs bask in the glow of success we have to wonder if there will ever be a time when cats get their dues. Let's hope that day happens soon, because I'm sick of playing as a smelly old dog. Isn't it about time cats had their day in the sun?

I've Got Your Number (Ep. 8) - We're up to EIGHT and that can only mean one thing. No, it doesn't mean we're going to devote a whole show to 8-bit games, although, now that you mention it that's a pretty good idea! Instead we're going to look at games that were shown off eight years before they actually came out. Prepare yourself for a short, but sweet, list of long-awaited games when we ask: Is Eight Years Too Much Time?

I've Got Your Number (Ep. 5) - In our first I've Got Your Number since the middle of last year we take a look at the number FIVE and what it's done for video gaming. In this case, five refers to five player games, a small group of games that did their part to buck the trend and give that fifth player something to do. Can we sustain a full article about five player games? You'd be surprised!
